As part of Birmingham’s 4 Squares weekender (6-8 September) you can join our Assistant Director, Marion Tait, for an open rehearsal in which she will be teaching the role of Carabosse, the wicked fairy from The Sleeping Beauty.

Focussing on the mime rather than the steps, even complete ballet novices will be able to understand the tips and techniques being shared by Marion, herself a former ballerina and famous dance actress.

Joining Marion will be First Artist Callie Roberts, who will be taking on the role of Carabosse for the first time as part of our autumn performances of the fairytale favourite.

The free workshop will take place on Saturday 7 September, 1pm, at the Town Hall.

The weekend-long festival also includes a performance by Freefall, Birmingham’s acclaimed company for highly gifted young people with learning difficulties. The performance will be led by former Birmingham Royal Ballet dancers and staff from Fox Hollies Performing Arts College, and provides a rare chance for the public to see this unique and life-affirming company live on stage.

Freefall’s performance will take place on Saturday 7 September, 3pm, at the Town Hall.
