Birmingham Royal Ballet and Birmingham Hippodrome is excited to be able to offer schools a fascinating insight into the Company’s spectacular ballet production of Cinderella.

Following the success of the Nutcracker Discovery Day in December 2011, we are inviting schools to come and experience Cinderella in an immersive educational morning of activity before the matinee production.

During the morning children will explore the story, themes and characters of the ballet through creative dance and music workshops and also have the opportunity to go backstage to see the awe-inspiring sets, props and costumes.

This is a rare opportunity to engage with ballet at such close range, a learning experience that will stimulate students’ curiosity, imagination and enquiry skills.

The morning is suitable for KS1 and 2 and is offered to schools at the subsidised rate of £500 (based on 90 children participating). If you wish to share the morning with another school, this is also possible.

There is also the opportunity to purchase tickets at a school rate for the matinee performance (please book directly through box office).

If interested please e-mail JoanneWilliams@brb.org.uk or telephone her on 0121 245 3533.

The Discovery Day could count towards a Discover or Explore level Arts Award, however additional support would need to be undertaken by the school to complete the recommended learning hours. There may also be a small cost from Arts Award to get the award certificated. If this is of interest, please mention when you register your interest.
