The first Pointe Blank collection is being exhibited as part of the Birmingham Made Me Design Expo 2012, which takes place at the Mailbox, Birmingham, 15-22 June.
This is the first time that the 27 prints, inspired by the story of the ballet Coppélia and created by a host of independent designers and illustrators, have been publically displayed since their unveiling last year.
Rob Lindsay, of Birmingham Royal Ballet, said:
“With Pointe Blank it was amazing to see the sheer volume of creative responses to the same initial brief, as well as the strength with which the different design concepts were realised. The diversity displayed accross the different images makes Pointe Blank even more than the sum of its parts, and we appreciate the chance to display the full set of prints publicly here in Birmingham Royal Ballet’s home city.”
The expo is intended as a platform for Midlands businesses and organisations to showcase the range of design and innovation expertise existing across the region, and the prominent cultural heritage. Other exhibitors from the world of performing arts include The RSC and Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
